Western Wind Systems LLC founded in 2005 by pioneer wind developer Shelby Walton, who as the majority shareholder designed, developed and built the first commercially viable wind turbine installation at a public school system in the state of Texas (and believed to be the first and largest in the nation) at Shallowater ISD in early 2007, just outside of Lubbock, Texas
Over the years Mr. Walton's company went on to build a number of wind turbine installations throughout Texas and the surrounding states, some of which are referenced at this site. Although Mr. Walton built Western Wind Systems LLC into the leading US distributor for Entegrity Wind Systems, a manufacturer of commercial wind turbines, the two groups did not share the same long term vision.
As a result, in 2008 Mr. Walton moved on in another direction and joined with other wind industry and business professionals to form Hydro-Star Energy LLC where Mr. Walton continues to apply his knowledge and experience, in addition to school wind projects, his talents are being utilitized in other segments of the emerging wind development market.
Commercial scale wind turbines continue to be an ideal investment to combat rising utility rates by enabling public entities and business owners to secure their cost for electrical energy now against historically rising future costs. Several area's of our country have abundant natural winds which can economically be harnessed by wind turbines, which are efficient, and are easy to operate and cost effective to maintain.
